Please Join us at the Wandering Sikh Memorial Dedication on 30 April 2022

This memorial will be a commemoration to the pioneer settlers of the Shire of Wandering.

Junga, Ham and Veer Singh all traded goods within the Wandering area, with Veer Singh taking up residency for a while.

This memorial will contribute to the Wandering community’s sense of place as a reminder of the Sikh’s presence in this area and the cultural diversity of Wandering.

The location of the proposed memorial is in the vicinity of the horse statue near the Community Resource Centre.  Both the Wandering Sikh history and this statue are connected through the local history book “The Horses came First” by Albert Schorer.

The Wandering Sikh memorial will be a part of the Australian Sikh Heritage Trail. For more information please visit http://www.australiansikhheritage.com/

Please join us for the Memorial Dedication on Saturday 30 April 2022 at 12pm, at the site, to celebrate this cultural connection.
