COMMUNITY EMERGENCY SERVICES MANAGER PROGRAM FUNDING

Published on Tuesday, 30 June 2026 at 8:00:00 AM

I am pleased to officially announce that our joint application for a shared Community Emergency Services Manager (CESM) for the Shires of Boddington and Wandering has been successful.

This outcome represents a positive step forward in strengthening regional emergency management capability and collaboration between our Shires.

Following the recent budget announcement by the State Government, which included funding for four additional CESM positions across regional Western Australia, the Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) undertook a review of current CESM allocations and assessed community risk profiles.

As a result of this review, one shared CESM position has been allocated to the Shires of Boddington and Wandering.

On behalf of Council and our local Bush Fire Brigades, I would like to sincerely thank DFES Commissioner Darren Klemm AFSM and our local DFES Regional Team based in Narrogin for their continued support of our emergency preparedness and management.
Dr. Alistair Pinto
Chief Executive Officer
