SCHEDULE 8 – NOTICE OF PUBLIC ADVERTISEMENT OF PLANNING PROPOSAL

Notice of public advertisement of planning proposal
The local government has received an application to use and/or develop land for the following purpose and public comments are invited.
Lot No.: 200, 12148, 12150, 12729 and 15231 (No. 7642)
Street: York-Williams Road
Suburb: Pumphreys Bridge
Proposal: The Shire has received a development application for a ‘Use Not Listed’ at 7642 York-Williams Road, Pumphreys Bridge, otherwise known as ‘Carabin Grazing’ (subject site or site). The application proposes to undertake a Biodiverse Environmental Planting Project using Carbon Sequestration.
Specifically, the total planting area is approximately 41.34 hectares, with each planting allotment less than 10 hectares.
In accordance with the Planning and Development (Local Planning Schemes) Regulations 2015 (LPS Regulations), the application is considered a ‘Complex’ application as the proposed use of the land is not specifically referred to in the zoning table for this Scheme in respect of the zone in which the development is located. Clause 64 of the Deemed Provisions within the LPS Regulations states that the Local Government must advertise a complex application in accordance with subclause (3).
Details of the proposal are available for inspection at the Shire Office. Comments on the proposal may be submitted to the local government in writing on or before Thursday, 22 May 2025.
